Smolderose has all the makings of a fine attar--rich, woody, dark. Here the green and sweet qualities of Rosa bourbonia have been enhanced with the clever introductions of honey, rose geranium, galbanum, coriander and angelica. In the perfumer's mind, smoky notes just seemed like the perfect pairing. Throw the dice, and we get a highly creative, Westernized play on a traditional attar. The feel is not dark but fresh. Think Snow White at a camp fire in a Middle Eastern desert.
