Perfumer: Timur Solodov
Top - Madagascar lemongrass, citronella monarda, bitter herbs
Middle - Green tea, poplar buds, vanilla
Base - Cistus, ambergris
Opening with intense citrus and herbal aromas, a bottle of Meadow Tea holds the perfumer's memories of summers in the Russian countryside. He spent a typical day in solitude, taking long walks followed by a dip in the river before coming home to a cozy wooden cabin to enjoy a hot cup of fragrant tea with a piece of sweet cake.
Green tea and poplar buds create an illusion of steam, almost like hay before it's dried, a moist woodiness, as though you can smell the walls of the cabin. Although the heart contains vanilla, it's used extremely judiciously, providing the tiniest bit of sugared sweetness that one might not notice unless they are looking for it.
Into the drydown, an aura develops on the skin that is similar to the scent of sunshine on a person's hair after they've been outdoors all day. Overall it's a well-blended fragrance that doesn't do a great deal of shifting. The initial citrus and herbal scents of citrus dominate throughout the length of wear, while the supporting notes gradually become enhanced over time. Meadow Tea would be a lovely choice for daily use as well as quiet afternoons of contemplation and introspection.
