EAU DE PARFUM
Family: Green woody
Perfumer: Sarah McCartney
Top: Cedar, green apple, red mandarin
Middle: Frankincense, galbanum, honey, rosewood, ylang ylang, jasmine tea
Base: Cedarmoss, green tea, white oud, musk
Galbanum shines as the star of the fragrance, a note that smells bracing and typically conveys a sense of aloofness, which, in perfumery, often translates to the scent of sophisticated elegance. With Macaque, the nose plays up the galbanum by blending it with crisp, green apples, woods and musk. Soothing green tea and precious frankincense take us deep into the forest, high up in the canopy, to take in an endless ocean of green foliage and cool air. A mossy base evokes the shaded forest floor. Macaque is brilliant. While highly imaginative, one might be surprised at how classy it smells.
