EAU DE PARFUM
Family: Woody aromatic
Perfumer: Eugene and Emrys Au
Year: 2018
Notes: Powder, orris root, palo santo, oakmoss, soil, fresh air
Invoking the purity and tranquility of the Garden of Eden, Paradisus is a lipstick and face powder fragrance that smells vintage and even a bit boudoir. The orris root is intense--starchy, deep, dense and rooty, calling to mind mud or clay. There is an implication of cool dampness, like shallow pools of sweet water, and a fresh feeling that reminds us of aldehydes, and it's all smoothed over and tied together by the natural woody-creaminess of palo santo. Paradisus is perhaps the most artistic and imaginative offering from this house.
