The Quintessence of Peranakan Chinese Heritage. Drawing inspiration from Tapai Pulut, a sweet dessert made of glutinous, fermented rice covered in a mixture of screwpine leaf, coconut milk and coconut sugar, the perfumers offer a taste of the Peranakan Chinese influence in their home country of Malaysia. Eau de Nyonya starts out sinfully creamy and nutty, caramelized and chocolatey, while something faintly green lingers in the background. The gourmand notes lighten up as they are joined by more traditional notes of soft orris root, benzoin, sandalwood and florals before finally surprising us with a seductive animalic base.
New bottle design (2018), same fragrance.
